“Immediate funding is the key thing for these communities. If they can’t access cash quickly the local economy won’t be able to amp up.”

Steve and Mandy were heavily affected by the NSW bushfires, losing their home and their car whilst Steve was volunteering with the Rural Fire Service.

Mark reached out to his mate, John Roca from Sydney City Toyota, to help Steve and Mandy replace their car with a brand new Toyota Hilux.

Steve says the business community are really feeling the affects of not only the bushfires, but also the fall out from the global pandemic.

“We’re going to have to trying and make this government give us the funding, to try and make this work at the moment,” said Steve.

“How do we move forward? The government’s only got so much money, but it’s going to take longer than six months to get us out of this hole.”

“The trouble is, we’re talking to people in government, who don’t actually work for themselves.”

“They  go home, they’ve still got their pay packet every fortnight.”

Mark says that the government needs to access real people, to get a grasp on what business community is actually experiencing.

Mark said, “Immediate funding is the key thing for these communities. If they can’t access cash quickly, the local economy won’t be able to amp up.”
