The founder of Edwards and Co hair salons, is blunt when it comes to social media.

“I think that every salon should have some type of social media presence or online presence,” Jaye Edwards said.

“If you don’t know how to do it, you need to find someone to do it for you because you want it to be really good from the get-go.”

A social media influencer himself, Jaye says paying for advertising is also crucial to getting clients in all industries but particularly hair.

“I do paid targeted Facebook ads; for example, if I want to target the block around my salon, I can do that,” he said.

“I think it’s really important for people to get on board with that, because the notion of not paying for advertising is not right. You want people in the salon? You have to pay for it.”
