Dave and Scott Shedden from Oz Design Furniture joined The Mentor with Mark Bouris podcast to talk about their 40-year strong family business.
They both attribute a big part of their business’ success to really knowing their customer.
“Our core customer ranges from 25 years old to 60 years old, and is mainly a female customer,” Dave said.
“And that means we have softer tones in terms of colours and natural fibres.”
‘So our sofas will have linens or cottons or something more breathable, as opposed to a polyester or synthetic.”
On top of furniture, the Oz Design brand has expanded to include homewares to better cater to their market.
“We have a huge range of homewares, so all of our prints and mirrors, lighting, rugs, cushions [are female skewed],” Dave said.
