Turning a left field idea into a mainstream business

Hear Mark Bouris' thoughts on Namaste Technologies, the world's largest cannabis e-commerce platform.

Namaste Technologies is the world’s largest e-commerce platform that sells cannabis products.

Namaste founder and CEO, Sean Dollinger, joined The Mentor with Mark Bouris to talk about the changing laws around cannabis products, and the business that is associated with it.

Mark’s response to Sean’s story was that the business model is mainstream - but the product is not.

“Our listeners are usually interested in startups or have a small business and want to amplify that in some way, or think about stuff in left field,” Mark said.

“To most of us, this is left field, and about how you can amplify a left field idea to turn it into something more mainstream.”

“To me, this is a mainstream business with a left field product.”

Mark admitted that he would have been reluctant himself to go into the business of cannabis, but has been disarmed by the knowledge from talking to Sean.

“It’s something I would have been scared to touch - less so now after speaking to you - because I don’t understand it,” Mark said.

“We always tend to do things that we all know about - but sometimes there are more opportunities in things that nobody else is working on, and that’s what you’ve done, and I think it’s brilliant.”
